Recognition

Recognition is a quiet list of the people your group leaders have recorded who are not yet on the church's own roll. It exists for a simple reason. When leaders gather people into groups, some of them are already known to the church and some are not, and it is easy for someone to be present in a group for months while never landing in the church's records. This surface makes sure no one is quietly missed.

Each entry shows the person as a leader recorded them, the name they go by or their email if no name was given, the groups they belong to, and when they first joined. A person recorded only as a visitor is marked as one. The list is not a table you keep up by hand. It is drawn straight from what is true right now, everyone active in a group under your organization who does not yet have a place on the church roll. Add a person to the roll, or let them leave every group, and their entry simply falls away. There is nothing to file and nothing to clean up.

There is one action, Add to roll. It records the person on your church roll and does nothing more. No message reaches them and no email goes out. Recognizing someone is a pastoral act, not an approval step, and it is meant to feel like one.

This is a surface to visit when you have the attention for it, not a queue to clear. It will not nag you and it keeps no score. When everyone you have on record is also on the roll, the list is simply empty, and that is its own kind of good news.
