Privacy Policy
Draft — not yet in effect
A working draft, revised after a completeness pass, describing Threshold's actual data practices in plain language. It has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel and is not in effect. Because Threshold handles sensitive information, this policy will be reviewed by a qualified attorney and given an effective date before it is relied upon.

Who we are
Threshold (“Threshold,” “we,” “us”) is operated by OTL Creative LLC, 1445 Woodmont Ln NW #481, Atlanta, GA 30318. For privacy questions or requests, contact admin@otlcreative.com.
Threshold helps small groups — such as church small groups, neighborhood associations, and community groups — share a weekly newsletter and keep track of one another's care and prayer needs.
What this policy covers
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to thresholdwalk.com and the Threshold application.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Account information — your email address, and a password if you create one. (Threshold also supports sign-in by emailed link.)
- Profile information you choose to add — such as a display name or a photo.
- Content you submit— newsletter content, prayer requests, care notes, calendar items, announcements, and (where available) contributions you choose to share with your group or send privately to your group's leader.
Information collected automatically:
- Basic technical information needed to operate the service (for example, log records of system events and email delivery events). We do nottrack newsletter “open rates” or “read receipts” as engagement metrics.
We may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies to keep you signed in, secure your session, remember basic preferences, and operate core features. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
We do not buy personal information about you from data brokers, and we do not sell your personal information.
Sensitive information, prayer, and care content
Threshold may hold sensitive group content, including prayer requests, religious or pastoral participation, care notes, health-adjacent circumstances, family needs, grief, financial hardship, and other personal situations. This is among the most sensitive information the service handles, and we treat it accordingly:
- Please submit only information you are authorized and comfortable to share. Leaders should use care before entering sensitive information about other people.
- Within a group, the visibility of care information depends on its role, sensitivity level, consent, and whether it has been deliberately escalated.
- Certain sensitive (“restricted”) care information is limited to its assigned coordinator and is not visible to others — including organization administrators — unless it is deliberately escalated. (We maintain this limit at the data layer, not only in the interface.)
- Threshold is not a medical, counseling, emergency, or pastoral-care substitute. If a situation is urgent or someone may be in danger, contact emergency services, appropriate professionals, or local pastoral leadership directly.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the service — deliver newsletters, show your group's information to the right people, and let leaders coordinate care;
- Send you the emails your group's participation involves (the weekly newsletter, invitations, and account/sign-in messages);
- Organize and format content you submit (see “AI processing” below);
- Keep the service secure and working, and maintain records of important system events;
- Respond to your requests and communicate with you about the service.
AI processing of your content
To format newsletters and to classify and route content into sections (for example, identifying whether something is a prayer request or a care need, and helping respect the visibility you chose), Threshold processes content you submit using a third-party artificial-intelligence service (currently Anthropic's API). This means content you submit — which may include prayer requests and care notes — is sent to that service for processing on our behalf.
AI routing helps classify and format content; it does not replace leader judgment, and sensitive or uncertain content may be routed to a leader for review rather than made visible to the group. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we configure and contract with our AI provider to prevent your content from being used to train their models where available. (We will keep this practice current as providers and their terms change.)
Who we share information with
We share information with service providers (“sub-processors”) who help us run Threshold, only as needed to provide the service:
- Supabase — database and authentication (where your data is stored);
- Vercel — application hosting;
- Resend — sending email (newsletters, invitations, account messages);
- Anthropic — AI processing of content, as described above.
Within your group, information is shared according to how the product works and the choices you make:
- Group-visible content is visible to authorized members and leaders of your group.
- Content you send privately to a leaderis visible to the leader or leaders responsible for stewarding that group, and may be visible to organization administrators where the product's role model grants them visibility into the groups they oversee.
- Restricted care information is limited to its assigned coordinator and is not visible to others (including organization administrators) unless deliberately escalated.
Leaders and organization administrators steward the groups and organizations they are responsible for, and may enter, organize, moderate, or retain content within them. Some privacy requests about group content may need to involve your group's leader or organization.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect safety, or in connection with a business transfer — limited to what is necessary.
Where your information is processed
Threshold is operated from the United States. Your information may be stored or processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate. If we later serve users outside the United States, we will address applicable cross-border transfer requirements at that time.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe — every newsletter includes a working unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of newsletter emails at any time.
- Access and deletion — you can download a copy of your information or delete your account directly from your account page, or by contacting admin@otlcreative.com. When you delete your account or we honor a deletion request, we remove or anonymize your personal information, subject to limited records we must keep for security and legal reasons. Some group records (such as a past newsletter or a care/audit record) may be retained in anonymized or de-identified formso the group's history remains coherent.
- Correction — you can update much of your profile information directly, or contact us for help.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. We will honor those rights as required.
How long we keep information
We keep your information as long as your account or group participation is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. System and audit logs may be retained in de-identified form.
Children
Accounts must be created and managed by adults. Minors may appear in group content only under the stewardship of the group's responsible adult leaders, with the minors' parents/guardians responsible for appropriate consent. Content involving minors is handled with heightened care. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner inconsistent with applicable law. If you believe a child's information has been collected improperly, contact us at admin@otlcreative.com.
Security
We protect information using technical measures including access controls that limit who can see group and care information, isolation between different organizations' data, and secured connections. If we become aware of a security incident affecting personal information, we will take appropriate steps to investigate, respond, and notify affected users or authorities where required by law. No service is perfectly secure, but we take the sensitivity of this information seriously.
Beta / early service
Threshold is currently offered as an early (“beta”) service. Features and practices may change. We will update this policy as the service develops and indicate the date of the latest change.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. The “last updated” date above reflects the most recent version.
